Danton's looking decidedly dangerous with all those guns in place!

Overloaded gun platform - that about captures it, I would say. Stilllooks pretty dangerous and very cool in a certain way. However, I am not quite sure if I would have preferred to serve on one of those - actually I am, I would not...

Hi Jan,
Can't argue with that, obsolete before she was commissioned, can't imagine what it was like when she fired a broadside, both main and secondary armament together!
Still have a soft spot for these ugly ducklings

Hi Si,
that looks great!! I really like the look of the black tops of main and secondary armament, that really adds to the, well, menacing look!!

Thanks Jan,
I do like the black on the turrets too, nice contrast with the deck, hadn't thought of it till you mentioned it, but it does make look a bit more menacing.

Small update on Sunday's efforts.
First section of the maindeck railing on.

Aft end of the maindeck done, and the ladders down to the quarterdeck level fitted too.

Quarterdeck railings in place.

Si,
This "ugly duckling" is indeed looking more menacing (mostly to itself, though!)
Your neat work is making the best of it, though, and those delicate rails add a bit of finesse.

Hi Russ, it is so far,
But, then it is quite a simple ship, and a very will engineered kit, that didn't any aftermarket.
Mind I still have the rigging to do yet, and that looks a right spider's web, so commissioning might be a week or three off yet.
Cheers

Quick update, finishing the railings
The forward section is one long piece, half etched through to ease bending. Bent to shape.

The only problem with this is, a couple of adjustments at the pend points mean you have more than one section of railing to fit.
The first two sections of the section down.

The after section of the forward section done.

Railings finished, except for one small gap to fill.

More soon.
Cheers

Railings already indeed Russ,
Very nice for kit railings they are too. Rigging, accommodation ladders and quarter boats/ sea boats, hung on some very frail looking davits, to go.
