It such a great kit, I know I am repeating myself, but I do like what Hobby Boss are doing at the moment.

Very nice work, Si!
Fast progress and crisp and clean as usual she's looking really good. And you can already see the finish line approaching!

Thanks Mate, appreciate your kind words and support as always.
Still quite a distance to go, the finish line is only visible from the main director

Thanks Russ,
Couldn't think of a better description for three tier directors, they do give a certain something to the look of the vessel.

Before I forget a wee bit progress yesterday,
back to sub assemblies
Cranes.
And Boats.
Painting the props, I use citadel metallics, the darker prop is a base coat of "warplock bronze" the finished prop is in the wonderfully named "scullcrusher brass,"
More soon
Cheers

A bit more progress today.
The paint job on the props done and they have been fitted in place.
The boats that go aft on the cradles aft of the bridge, well three out of the five.
The correct five boats in place.
The boats are pretty much all painted, so for a bit relief, one of the quad secondary turrets built.
The gun mount test fitted on the after barbette, a few more deck details down in that area too.
More soon.
Cheers

Sunday's progress
More work on the boats, etched trolleys fitted to two of the motor boats.
Fitted along with two open boats.
Still quite a few of these to do.
Plastic parts of the quad 13.2mm assembled.
And with the etch.
Quite effective but tricky to fold as the seats and sights are very fragile, and there is nothing to fix them to.
Started work on the main turrets for a break from the small stuff.
The Gun barrels fitted to the base, took a little feckling to get the barrels lined up with the ports in the gunhouse.
And the gunhouse fitted.
More after next weekend.
Cheers

Good to see the big guns up Si!
A busy weekend it seems with the 3 slipways your building in

Those quad machine guns were very fiddly. Almost as difficult to mount as well. The ship's boats are looking good.

Hi Michael,
They do look rather good though, I did the feeling that the locating pins on the bottom are a bit big.
one down ten to go.
This weekend, on with sub assemblies.
Thanks for looking in mate.
Cheers

A bit more progress yesterday.
Long week at work, so wimped out on the smaller sub assemblies and got on with some big bits
"A" Turret done.
Both main turrets done and test fitted.
The searchlights painted and fitted, along with a few other bits & pieces.
the remaining secondary turrets build.
The quadruple mounts test fitted.
An overview of the vessel so far.
I hope it will be warm enough to get the windy stick out next weekend.
Cheers

A little progress this weekend,
Anchor cables.
The chain as provided.
painted XF69 Nato black.
One small fault on the kit, no spurling pipe, so a bit of drilling. Shown drilled on the central cable, the outer pair yet to be done.
All cables in place.
No paint on the turrets I am afraid, Sunday was a mix of snow & sleet showers, with the temperature in my outdoor spray booth barely above zero.
More at the weekend, I hope.
Cheers
