Thanks Tim,

The flying boat is a fairly weird beast too, and not meaning this in a derogatory way, very French. (I do have a soft spot for French naval aviation, in all it's quirkiness)

Cheers Si

"Multiple aerial runs" shudder!

You've done a great job on them though, Si

Thanks Russ,

Practice mate, and the old copper wire technique, I would be sweating massively trying that with easy line or similar.

Si I don’t know how you build these ships so fast.

Hi Norman,

Thank you for looking in.

I have to say this has been quick even for me for a battleship, but apart from then deck, this has been straight from the box, and a very good box it is too. A lot of the larger superstructure pieces were beautifully slide moulded in one piece, that helped too.

I started Warspite around the same time, and she is barely half done, but I am chucking a lot of after market that, so that I am hoping to have finished for Telford in November.

Cheers

The final push.

Anchors and jackstaff fitted, along with the platforms.

Gaps for the not fitted accommodation ladders.

Ensign staff and after booms fitted,.

seaboats fitted and ensign hoisted.

also hoisted, Dunkirque has commissioned.

That was a very nice kit a quirky beast, and I have enjoyed this somewhat rapid build, even by my standards.

Thank you for all the support along the way.

Cheers Si

Outstanding as usual, Si! That last picture was fun; I like how you can see bridge equipment through the windows. Cool!

Very nice!
With all these commissionings it looks like you're clearing the decks for a flattop

Two commissionings in one day! Most excellent!

Yes, I suspect also that you're clearing space for a flat top

Thank you Russ,

The shipyard is looking a bit empty.

You ate correct, this space is now ready to take the keel of a Flattop.

More on that later.

Thanks for all you comments and support along the way with this build.

Cheers

Hi Si!

Congratulations on this super fast build, straight forward but nevertheless your usual high standard! Fantastic job and have a few , that's definitely earned - for a double commissioning!!

Though I will not participate with the flattops - Hood simply will keep me busy next to real life - I'm looking forward and of course will be following the campaign and your build!!

Cheers,
Jan

Thanks Jan,

Always appreciate you being along. I do understand about time, things are going to get busy fro me throughout April, so may be a bit quieter than usual.

I am a little surprised on how quickly this one has gone together, my first battleship in less than eight months. (Don't think that will happen again) but it is a superb kitm with regard to fit and detail.

Cheers

Hi Russ,

Good guess mate, but no, I have that kit in the stash, but ahead of it in the queue is a U.S. Carrier (Present from Mrs Duster a little while back,)

It will be Intrepid CV11 1944.

Cheers

Congratulations for your finished battleship Simon. It looks great. Now there are just the 1.300 crewmen in 1:350 scale missing
