Hi JClapp,

Your Dio would be very welcome, after discussions with other shipmates interested in joining, the campaign will include not only ships, but aircraft and dioramas, I updated the proposal yesterday

Quote:-

Any ship with a full length flight deck, including LHDs, or for us Brits Commando Carriers.

Carrier based aircraft, fixed and rotary wing - must be in the markings of an aircraft that flew from a ship as classified above.

Dioramas allowed, but should include part or all of a ship as classified above.

Started builds allowed.

Any Scale.

I am getting feeling some would prefer a slightly later start, so shall we say 1st May?

OK I am in with Merit's Enterprise and Infini set.
Should I ask for the extension now or wait until later?

cheers
Michael

Lets wee how e go Michael,

That will be an interesting comparison with an Essex with Pontos - that is a fairly big ask as, there will a full airwing as well.

Cheers

Truer words have never been spoken. I have honestly surprised myself in that I currently only have 2 kits in the process of being built. And one of those is in the paint stage.

It would be interesting on the part count. When I got the Infini set from David Foster the scale of it was truly daunting, then the wooden deck which is a separate set has it's own substantial PE set. Gone are the WEM days of a sheet and a half of railings, ladders and doors

cheers

I know what you mean Michael, now it's 200+ turn brass parts, 100+ resin, wood deck, 10 sheets of etch, etc,

that's progress and I have to say I have a slight addiction to these sets.

You guys started before I approved the campaign, haha!

Campaign approved. It started and stopped on the same day (May Day), so I extended it 6 months.

Yup Bill,

Michael has the right of it, we could do with 12 months, if that's ok, don't think I could get through a 1/350 carrier in 6 months.

will post this over on Aeroscale as well, but we are ready to enlist

Many thanks Si.

As long as the editors don't object. I have extended the campaign until May 1st 2019.

My entry will be USS Enterprise CV6 as it was in 1942 for Battle of Santa Cruz (I think that's the version in this box)

Photo etch will be the Infini set. Only thing missing is a decent number of planes for the flight deck.

cheers
Michael
