Kudos to Round 2 on the LST reissue. However, a fresh 1:144 LST with troops and vehicles included would likely set sales records.

Actually, I'm referring to the LST, not the LSM. The much larger LST has yet to be released in 1:144 to the best of my knowledge. Such a kit would be a superb compliment to Revell-Germany's product. Also, LST's served in a variety of other roles, including as light repair ships, so having an LST kit in common ship scales, as well as 1:144, would be a boon.

Well, to quote Porthos in the Charlie Sheen remake of the Three Musketeers--"whoa-ugly!". Although this is one of the "less-ugly" Lindberg kits. I wish Round-2 would re-consider re-issuing this stuff and passing it off as new. It's in no common scale, has multiple inaccuracies, and really is only good for nostalgia. By re-issuing these kits, they are fouling up the secondary "collector" market, causing us to spend extra money on "nostalgia" kits (that we find out arent so nostalgic after all) and giving youngsters the wrong impression about the fit of model kits (although it would be a good starter kit if the price was right). But I've seen at least two discerning kids recently walk away because they were unhappy with the fit, price and detail of kits like this. What market is Round2 catering to? It would be better to do some research and put some time into a new LCI, LST, or TLC, like Revell did with their newer LCM kit. We really need new kits in this overlooked category of ships, not old re-treads. Sorry, Ill get off the soap box now.

Round 2 has done some magnificent work on reissuing kits especially in science fiction. There they've also tweaked kits and done detail and improvement bits because there it will sell ( military Just doesn't have as big an audience as Star Trek or even Space:1999) Just seeing the old Lindberg stuff is nice and I even broke down and got the abysmal Lexington to put with my Revell Yorktown(s)

Now if they could just dug deep into those Lindberg molds and find the 1/40 Life-like armor. They got them with the 1/48 aircraft so they're in there somewhere.

To tell you the truth, I wish Round 2 would take up the other 1/72 Japanese I-Boat submarine Lindberg was considering about a decade ago--not the disaster with the Kaitens they actually released, but the other one they advertised with the midget sub on the deck. The promotional pics looked just fine, which could not be said of the other design they actually released, and having a good Japanese WWII sub would help round out representation in that large scale.

The only nostaglgia kit i have picked up is the Montrose (Attack cargo/transport ?) It is close to 350 scale and you can get a Liberty ship PE kit to kitbash some stuff

Oh and that ancient Revell Higgins PT boat...think it is the only game in town.
