That compass platform detail does look nice. Making nice progress since the last post.

Bridge looks good already.
On a side note, that radar lantern has to be one of the best I've seen in this scale![]()

Si,
Glad to see you got them off the mounts without damage. I most likely would have.
I thought the breakwater would face the other way with the ribs supporting the breakwater into the waves?

amazing how much detail they cram into these little uns!![]()

Simon: While I am thinking about RN destroyers, and your outstanding build of Malcolm, a quick question if you don't mind.
I have Trumpeter's Zulu and Eskimo in my to do pile, and I would like to do Zulu, as Ashanti, before the war, as commissioned.
I know Trumpeter's three Tribal's have issues with the bow, and the over scale main gun mounts. I am prepared to live with the bow, and there is aftermarket for the gun mounts.
So far though I can't seem to find decals for the pennant numbers. Resin Shipyard/Hawk Graphics lists them on their web site, but they are unresponsive and I think they might be out of business, which is a shame. They made quality products. So, do you know of a source for both wartime and post war pennant number decals?

Just keep the decals in mind at Telford, and please report back on what you find out.
In the meantime continue on with Malcolm to provide the inspiration I need for Ashanti.

Si,
I would say you got more than a bit into it yesterday. Very nice work, she is really shaping up nicely.

One of the reasons I am following this thread on a regular basis is that I have grown tired of USN destroyers. There is only so much that you can do to a Fletcher, and I have reached a point where I believe I could put one together in my sleep, and all the fun of building is, at least temporarily, gone.
What I have done is turned my attention to the IJN, DKM, and RN DD's. AJM has a dealer in the States and offer four kits. I am tempted, and after I do Ashanti, I may go down that road. How do AJM products compare with Atlantic RN DD's. Slightly different era, but still in relatively the same time frame. They too have products that interest my greatly, but no dealer in the States seems to carry them, and the postage from the UK would add greatly to the cost. Still though if the quality of Atlantic is on par with what you say about AJM it may in the end be worth it to score some DD models that you do not see, and probably will never see, in plastic.

Si,
Thanks for the update, she is a sweet looking ship. I assume the windscreen is resin? Nice work fitting it in and painting.
