You might also want to check your sources for the correct pattern of the non-slip walkways on Kidd. They were a different pattern on the later Fletchers than were on the early ones.

I believe the interior of all the gun tubs had a raised non-slip surface as well.

What blue did you use - brand and exact color. That looks really good, and I have never yet found a blue that I have used that suits my taste. The exceptions are whatever you used here and what Simon used on Ranger. From the photos they appear spot on.

I think my problem is that I stay away from enamels.

Also while I am thinking about it going by your call sign you are a tank builder. I have the same problem with a desert yellow for my Afrika Korps models. They all seem too bright. Tamiya's new color Desert Yellow 2 looks good to me, but I detest Tamiya paint

Yes I am a armor modeler mostly. The blue I mixed myself using about 40% dark blue, 40% light grey and 20% black ( From what I remember that is about that ratio), but it might not be 100% accurate but it looks close enough th pics and reference guides. As for desert yellow really I play it by eye for whatever I work on,as some vehicles were prone to more sun bleaching different coats of paint ext.

Finished cutting out the 3D printed parts, really stressful because there really thin and brittle. I managed to cut them all without breaking any thankfully.

This one even has a interior!

3D printed square bridge and Bofor tubs on, the fit on all of them was okay but the seam was pretty bad on the tubs and a lot of filler was needed around the back of the bridge... of well primer on more sanding tomorrow.

Doing some PE on the gun directors. Im using the Toms Model works set for this, and im fairly happy with it. Like I wish the railing and ladders were separate parts and the instructions were clearer but overall its pretty good.

Looks great! I really like the vertical antenna - it just adds that extra touch.

Ezra,

Very nice PE work on the director.

Tom's PE I find to be to thin and sometimes to hard to work with. I hate it when the piece get distorted while cutting the attachment point or it bends under its own weight when picking it up. They do offer a lot of detail options but if I can find an offering from another vendor I will go with them.

I know what you mean about the PE I had some Bend when picking some up, but I found that some is pretty thick, like the base of the director so I dont know.

I have had this same issue with White Ensign PE. I think its why I prefer the Eduard sets. May not have quite as much detail but I find the PE to be much more robust and with my fat ol' fingers I need that robustness.

Heres a mockup of the ships. The conning tower is loose on the sub and nothing is glued to the ship.
