Hi Ezra,

well, the 8.8 clearly shows where you're coming from modeling wise - looking splendid!
But you're doing a fine job with the ship, too - she looks great, and a fun build log to follow!

Cheers

Thanks Jan! Im really enjoying this build, but i dont think ill be making another super detailed ship right away, I think something "simple" might be nice. Like a full interior Tank or the Revell 1/72 Platinum edition Gato class sub. ( just a hint it'll probably be the gato!) Glad you find my build log enjoyable!

One broke of them shipping and some barrels snapped so i will replace them with some metal ones.

Nice looking stuff from Black Cat. I also had one arrived broken from Black Cat even though the packing looked good, but I thought the box was a little oversize.

Yip, this is how it starts. You start with a great deal on a kit ($18.50) I believe you said and next thing you know you have $150 worth of aftermarket on her.

Ask us how we know

Quick update! Quad bofors finished and slightly weathered! ( I fell bad for people Like Rory AKA. McRunty who have to build like 20 of these little demons!) They are built from the black cat models and model master barrels.

It is not impossible to take the Tamiya kit, depicting a very early round bridge Fletcher, and build he as a late war square bridge, but it will entail a lot of scratch building.

Amen to THAT! That's exactly what I did for this build, and it did indeed take a considerable amount of rework and scratch building, not to mention a ton of aftermarket items.

Looking really good Ezra.
Very neat work on the etch railings.
Are those quad Bofors cast from 3d prints?

Some more progress! The mast is finished, and 5" guns built and waiting paint!

This will most likely be my last update for a couple days so stay safe everyone!
