Thanks.

It doesn't seem to like my login credentials....

Did you make a new login for the main kitmaker website and the forums? If you don't use facebook or google you need to make separate logins for them both.

Ah. My one login had worked for all the kitmaker stuff until this. I'll see about creating a new one....

Have plenty of Destroyers so I'll pull one out of the stash over the next few weeks.

Here's my start shot. Also posted on Beta site.

Shanghai Dragon 1/700 USS Arleigh Burke DDG-51. First destroyer in over 20 years, hope I finish this one.

Hi guys
My Mirage kit of the USS Ward arrived a few days ago. My start photo is below. The Ebay seller also included a Mirage kit of the USS Noa as well. It was the Clemson class destroyer that was converted to carry an XSOC-1 seaplane in 1940. The kit is about 60-70% complete so I can't use it for the campaign but it looks to be an interesting build. Anyway, my start photo:

Thanks
John

Good choice John.
Interested to see how it builds. I have the Airfix reboxes of this kit in Royal Navy service. Will be watching with a lot of interest.

Does the Noa kit come with the seaplane conversion?

Hi Stephen,
Yes, the USS Noa kit depicts the ship following conversion in April 1940. i think it's based on the photo of the ship with the plane installed in the Philadelphia ship yard. You can also tell its prewar due to the lack of AA armament except for the 3" gun near the stern. I'm looking forward to working on it.
Thanks
John

Just to reiterate, the thread has been moved over to the new forum.

Hello everyone,

first, let me introduce myself: my Name is Alex, i'm from Munich (yes, the one with the famous Oktoberfest) and lately I discovered the "fun" of building ship models...

So, now I enlisted in this campaign to share my result with people who know much more than me about building small ships, and maybe I can learn one or two things on my way.

I want to participate with Hasegawa's "IJN destroyer Yugumo", Flyhawk's etched deck and Tetra Model Works detail set. Maybe there'll be other add-on's like guns or searchlights, but this decision will come later.

Fotos will follow as soon as I get the package from my dealer.

Have fun modelling
Alex

Great to have you, Alex. I think today is the last day of this version of MSW. There is a new thread for this build on the new forum here:

Thank you Phil,

just one (dumb???) question: do I have to enlist on the new forum again, or is the campaign just transfered???

I don't really know the answer to that. But the thread will continue on the new forum.
