Ok, one vote for WeeVee, one vote for California (1941)...of course, by the time this starts, HMS Hood will be out...maybe we should add in battlecruisers...
Jeff
You beat me to it Jeff, of course Battlecruisers are included to! There aint no way I'm leaving them out.

I want to say yes, but a late start would kill me! Going of to college in Aug, and can't bring the models with me plus im not sure if I will be around for the summer. If I could do it I would do either a USS Lexington as a battlecruiser in 1/700 resin (probably not though, too expensive), a 1.350 SoDak, or NJ. I want to wait to do the bismarck until I get more modeling experiance so I can get it right.

I would hope we do wait until late summer early fall and run the campaingn (if it is approved) long enough for a good build I have a bunch of PE parts and wouldn't mind doing a wooden deck which would take time to do. I have plenty I need to finish up before starting more. LOL

I'd like in. I got a good deal on the Iron Shipwright 1/350 NC and wanted to start it this summer because (a) my workbench is (over)full now, (b) I've got to make a photo run down to Wilmington, and (c) I see a lot of resin to be fixed/sanded on the keel & I want to be outdoors.
So, summer start, long time finish, please.

Aha ! Another Battleship man. Welcome aboard John, glad to have you along for this future voyage! Yes, if approved this will be a good long build. Hopfully starting mid to late summer. I have a lot on my table right now also, but then again I'm drooling to start another Battlwagon to!

Ok mates, now that we are going for this campaign, what are we going to call it ? Any idea's?
I will start off with: Battleships of the world. Now I'm not sure just when to submit this campaign for approval, we will have 6 or 7 months before the campaign start. But I feel we should submit it soon while we still have fresh imput. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hey Gary:
I have been wanting to try a battleship model and picked up the Tamiya 1/700 HMS Nelson real cheap on ebay. Have added a Tom's Modelworks photo-etch set for it as well. This campaign will be a great opprotunity to build it, as long as it does not start until the summer!

How about Battle wagons forward? I have to say that the interest in warships has exploded since the Dive Dive Dive campaign.I haven't built a ship in 30 years at least but It is starting to sound good. I will have to give this some serious thought. The last one I built was the Yamato while stationed on Okinawa in the early 70's.

Howdy Keith !
Yes in deed it will be a mid summer build. Welcome aboard Sailer

! I have built Tamiya's 1/700 HMS Nelson, its a fine kit. Very worthy of this Battleship campaign! 6 or 7 months is a long way off, but it dont stop us from talking about it!

yeah i'm in on it too. now to think of what to enter. I've always wanted to build the Mushashi.
Although I've still got a ticonderoga and an enterprise still in the box for 2 years now. Both of them are 1/350scale.

Mondo, build the Musashi, you wont be sorry! Here is a pic of my Tamiya 1/350 Yamato. Sister ship to the Musashi.

Specialy since this is a battleship campaign.

I'd like to "crossover" from Armor to this one also. I have several 1/700 Battleships that I've collected and not built. I'm thinking of maybe one of the older WWII Japanese battleships, but am tempted also to do USS Washington (wonder why). I'm involved with the "Tank Terror", "AGE 2", "Ardennes" now and will add "VE- Europe" so later Summer is better. How about the good ole "DREADNOUGHTS" for the title? Thanks for the change opportunity.

Aha ! Another Battleship man. .... snip ....

Well, not really -- I'm more a Flower Class Corvette guy -- significant part of my nautical library is Battle of North Atlantic, the rest is Age of Fighting Sail, maybe I should build HMS Victory?.
But living now in North Carolina & having "our own" battleship just down the road, I had to get this one just to be a good "model citizen" ....

Your very welcome aboard Blade ! Your choice of Battleships is good Either the IJN Battleship or the USS Washington, or both! Its going to be a long campaign so you could have time to build them both. I just might squeeze two in myself! I think I am going to give members more time to suggest campaign names, then have a vote off. Same for the starting date, it will be either July or August.
Glad to have you with us Blade48mrd!
