Hi Mates!!
On my last post I mentioned a Brown Water Navy Campaign for 2006 - and at the same time I asked if such Campaign had already rolled...
So my question is:
- Is there an archive for previous campaign in the warship area, here at Armorama?
- On the Group Builds Gallery there's no Naval campaign...
- On the Warship Gallery, there is only DDD campaign.
Was "Dive! Dive! Dive!" the first naval Campaign??
And by the way - What would you think about a Brown Water Navy Campaign?
Skipper

I fully support the idea. The riverine forces were not limited to PBRs and Swifts and there would be and are a number of subjects available to model.

They tried 2 previous Naval Campaigns but I don't know what happened. The last one was unsung sisters which made it to campaign status, then somehow fell apart. A few years back, they had something about the Pacific fleet as I built the 350 scale Arizona for it

Greetings Rui !
It looks like the DDD campaign is the 4th warship campaign so far. A brownwater campaign for the future would be alright for me! Mike Taylor and I were talking about a future Flattop campaign to! Now is they were back to back in 2006, that would be 6 months for each build. Hey that could be done to!
Course we are getting the cart before the horse, but we can still talk about it! I'm game for both!
The Mad Modeler,

Flat top sounds cool to me. Get some nice Nimitz action going on there.

Ahoy Mates!
First of all, thank you for your inputs!
I think that they were a great help and if we, "the wet modelers" want to keep this area alive, we have to make some advance planning!
It's not a question of madness or trying to put the cart in front of the horses, but planning (although I agree a little with the horse issue).
I think that DDD Campaign is getting a strenght and flow that the previous warships campaigns didn't ("Unsung Sisters" and "Anchors Away!")!
I understand that the members participating in this last one, are more than the previous, but also think, that this energy can't be lost, so if we, as a group, can push this energy further, we can make this Warship area, at Armorama a truly great area:
- the members are great!
- communications and info share are great!
- honest remarks when help is asked - not just a tap on the shoulder!
- the subjects that are waiting for campaigns are limited, but they all make very interesting models
So, we as a crew - that is starting to bond with this DDD Campaign - can't be torn appart!
Let's keep on going, making this a Grand Warship Area in Armorama!
(steped out of the soap box - and going to have lunch...
maybe the hunger is making by brain see things in a wrong perspective!!)

Yes, I agree Rui. Long range planning is needed! That is why and how the Dreadnought campaign was dealt with. Planning ahead for everyones best interest. And you are right about keeping the momentom going on campaigns, if they sit idle to long , attention tends to drift away. By keeping the subjects fun and interesting, the enthusiasum stays in the campaign!
All good stuff Amigo! And right on!
Gotta go for the gusto!

When I first got active in Armorma, it seemed that me and a guy named YODA were the only ones truely interseted in ships, then along came Halfyank and then GaryBeeBee. Now we seem to be drawing in more and more. To quote an old but classic move "my heart soars like a hawk". Flatops away, I've got 3 now to build, and am already setting up the fourth

"my heart soars like a hawk".
LOL :-) Ahhhh Chief Dan George "Little Big Man"
I think a carrier campaign would be cool too! I've been itching for an excuse to build the Hornet as it appeared in the Doolittle Raid and add it to Steve's Mini Museum of Military History
But I want a Brown Water Campaign too Skip!

Oh No two more naval campaigns I would join. What are you guys doing to me! LOL Count me in for 2006 for both. I have had my eye on Trumpeters Russian Flattop and I would love to build another Tamiya PBR. it was one of my favorite builds.

Hi all Mates!
First of all, I would like to thank all for the positive support on this "talk"!
I think that this is not a question of "Divide to Conquer" but "To Unite and Go"!!
The proposed and already running Campaigns seem to be interesting and would getter a lot of modelers.
This is the fun part of it... isn't it?
And the purpose of this Campaigns too
Let's keep the area alive
