ICM's 1/350 scale Battleship Markgraf. If I'm correct, this is a sister ship to the Grosser Kurfurst. The ship that Mike had just finished below. This is a welcome addition and I want one! Now to find that second job.

No, Moltke was a battlecruiser, sister ship to the Goeben that survived as a Turkish ship until 1970.

Margraf was a Koenig class, scuttled in Scapa Flow.

Nice looking box top. So how many German battleships do they make until they make any of the winners? Just my rant for the day.

They were the Konig class Steve. The Moltke and the Goeben were the Moltke class of 2.

The Konig class consisted of the :
Konig
Grosser Kurfurst
Markgraf
and Kromptinz.

So we have one more of the class to have ICM produce, the Kromprinz !

German,
Could this be a maritime version of the Axis vs. Allies new releases similar to what happens with armour and figures?

Yes Tom, I'm afraid this exist in all military model types. It sure seems to be kind of one sided at times. If only us modelers could be heads of these companies!

Interesting. I'd love to build a 1:350 battleship for the upcoming campaign, but the tamiya ones are too expensive for me. How much do these kits cost? Haven't seem them in the shops here already!

At the Alanger site...
He's got the Koenig in a mislabled box of the Markgraf listed.
With the discount it's $35.00 .... says retail is $70.00
http://www.alanger.us/

Since I have no idea of the differences, I can't comment on either.

Dave:
It's the same kit. Sounds like a great bargain. Probably the only difference is the name on the instructions.
Martin:
If you are having difficulty with the prices on these larger kits. You can pick up a 350 scale Arizona for around $30. Also search ebay for good bargains. I got an Accurate Hobbies (Academy/Tamiya ripoff) 350 scale Bismarck for $20. Not as crisp as the Tamiya kit, but I use PE so that helps out a lot. Some of the 700 scale kits can be had for under $20 Look forward to having you sign up for the campaign.

You know, I think Accurate Hobbies made the 1/350th Ticonderoga I have. Man they must use everyone's molds! That was a DML kit. (question is, who had it before DML?) It's a nice kit, decals aren't so great though.
