This is a photo of the flight deck of a Trumpeter 1/350 Essex class aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid. Built by Wally Bigelow. Just a sample of things to come after January 1, 2006-Flattops Campaign!

Ooh my god!!!

Just how many aircrafts are included in such a kit?

These little things even have an antenna wire, something I can't even manage on a 1/72 aircraft.

But in all fairness, this looks cooler than anything I have ever seen in such a scale!!
But something tells me this one isn't build straight out of the box, and a couple of hundred $ were involved here on PE and aftermarket stuff.
Am I right?

Anyway, my three word summary for this one:
..... gimme gimme gimme...... !!!!!!

Garry, tell me where you found the pics, I want more!!!!

This was done by a friend of mine, it's the Blue Water Navy resin Hornet set up for the Doolittle raid. He took it to the IPMS Nationals in OKC two years ago.
I apologize for the quality of the photos, I have some better ones around here someplace.

But, I thought this might add fuel to the old fire.

That intrepid/Essex kit is not that expensive. You can pick one up for around $80 or even cheaper on ebay. There are various PE sets the cheapest running around $40, but is stuffed with great items (I used the Tom's). The aircraft that come with it depending on which one you get usually comes with 12 aircraft. The discounters sell 6 packs for around $5.50.

Hmmm...

I have been on the Intrepid and it would be a great flattop to built (on her WWII configuration, of course!!!)

The planes shown on the first pic are Avengers and Helldivers
