Ok, so this is whining but, if you ever want to see how much resolve and patience you have, go out, purchase the Revell Lionfish and paint each one of those vent openings! D'oh! man I've never had to concentrate so much in my life. Paint three and stop for five minutes and then paint three more. Three hours later it seems like I haven't even put dent into them...and that was just the first side.

Let's see, this is over on May 31st..hmmm

Hi Steve....

That's a task that I "missed" when I build my USS Bluefish, but I had to sand all the limber holes marks and then had to drill all the needed ones - with a pin vise, and then a file... boring - tedious, but the end result looked convincing!

So, me Mate - this is a test to you, and I know you're going to pass it with underwater colors

Don't give up!!!

Hey Skip,

Oh, I won't give up, I'm in too deep with them now. Tho I'm not so sure I won't go insane when it's all said and done. I shouldn't complain, I think having to re-drill them would be ten times worse than painting them.

Yes..."limber holes" I really should stop calling them "vents" Frank told me correct term.

I bored mine out on my Uboat, but if I had gone straight OOB I would have sprayed black first to get them, then airbrushed gently over. At least most would have been black and I would only have to do touchup

Gentlemen, Gentlemen! Just get a Kohl-e-Nor drafting pen with black ink and just fill it in with that. I use a OO size and it works great for Limber holes and decking.

Steven I'm glad to hear your moving them along! How are the modern subs doing? I have been away from the site due to work and I havent seen you post about them.

P.S. If I don't respond right away I am off the site for the next week. See Going to Alabama in The junk drawer.

Keep the boards full with DDD while I am gone.

Scott,

I am ashamed to admit it, but since it's warmed up here I've been doing yard work for the past two weeks and my building has sort shot the tubes. So, progress has been at a snail's pace. Plus, I now have a 1/72nd U-Boat and I've been slobbering all over myself with that....sad..is it not?

Once I finish with the flower beds and landscaping for SWMBO, I'll be back at the bench with a vengeance ....I hope.

There should be a pre-nup for married modelers.
