Hello,

I've got several sub models to build and I'd like to display them nicely and cleanly.

How do you display yours ?
Do you use brass rods to show your sub over a wooden plaque ? Then, how do you fix your sub to the rods ?
Do you use another method ?

Hello Penpen

(I am still searching for the Alpha painting scheme)
I use to display my models using brass custom made supports or some kind of base, if the model suits it, like a cart (for manned torpedoes) or the model own base (if nice)! For my manned torpedo and midget submarines a wooden base is a must - it will give that extra mile look

In most cases if you are going to do the brass or wooden dowel method is to put screw ends into your ship facing outward before you put the deck on. This gives you the attachment point. I use the kit plastic stand myself, but one excellent way I have seen them displayed is putting a multitude of square pieces along the top of your wooden mount and affix the ship that way

When I complete the Surcouf I plan on painting the kit's stand, with her name on it, and mounting it to a nice wooden base I have, after I've stained and shined it.

I Generally go to Hobby lobby and find a nice finished plaque and then to the hardware store and find some nice drawer hardware and combine all 3 to get a nice stand. Just glue them all together with a little JB Weld an , done.

I plan to use both brass rods and the wooden "timbers". The single subs will set on the timbers and the display that will have four subs, I'll use the brass rods. In regards to the attachment of the brass rods, I thought I would use an epoxy of some sort.
