Holes opened with dremel from backside. The hull inside painted flat black.

Those came out rather nice Boris. You must have a pretty steady hand. I opened mine on the small VIIC and like an idiot, before I understood their true purpose, I re-backed them....yeah...paint me stupid.

I thought about opening those on the 1/72nd kit, but after looking at them I know I wouldn't be able to do it with a no. 11 blade....my hands shake too much these days to try it with a Dremel.

Again, they came out looking nice.

Hi Boris!

They came out nice

Steve,

The advantage in using the dremel tool is that you don't need to be too perfect (drilling from the inside)...
You could be a little "shaky"

Are you supposed to be able to see through the holes to the other side? It's not a knock against your work Boris, its just a question that arose when I was drilling the holes out myself....anybody know?
BTW-- great work so far Boris, keep the pics coming!

Sean,

I think the answer is, yes. I thought you wouldn't be able to see through to the other side as well. However, just inside of the outside hull, is the pressure hull and the purpose of the limber holes is to drain away water from the decks and between the two hulls. As has been explained to me.

However, I might have simplified too much.

Steve I used a dremel to drill mine out. I took 3 days or so to do it. Just take your time and do them until you get to a point you feel less controlled. Do something else and then come back to it. I had the added pleasure of cutting away those bottom portions to instll the modelbrass replacement pieces....now that was a royal pain
