Howdy All,
I just uploaded some new pic's of my Spee model. It's been on hold for a few weeks awaiting some more pe. I just got it in today. I ordered 3 packs of the WEM portholes in 1/350 and a set of Tom's 1/400 Inclined vertical ladders. I'm working on the superstructure from here to get the first level finished. From there I'm gonna cut off the bottom and mount her on a stand to do a waterline. She's gonna start to look like a ship here in the next few weeks. I appreciate all your support from my last update thread. You guys are all great motivaters here.

Ray,
it sure looks good... I am wondering, how many hours do you have into this project so far?
Good luck, and looking forward to your next update.

Ray,
Ditto. Also, I was wondering if you cut your own wood deck and it look as though the only thing you kept from the original kit was the hull. Are you using scale drawings to re-build the super structure?
Very impressive.

Howdy Guys,
I've got about 100 + hours building in so far. On the model the only part from the heller kit is the hull. I'm gonna use bits and pieces from the kit here and there. I'll be using the turrets but am putting brass barrels in them. The masts will all be brass too. I just put on the turnmast and will be updating some pic's later this evening. Thanx for the compliments.

 Howdy Ron,
Thanx for all the compliments. Yes I planked the decks. I used Midwest scale lumber .0208 X .0208. X 11" to do the decks. It's hard on the eyes at times while doing it but the end result is worth it. Again, Thanx for the complements guys.

Hi Ray,
What type of glue do you use to attach the wood to the plastic? Super glue?...epoxy?....
It sure is looking good!!

Howdy Plasticat,
I use Zap a gap super glue, the medium kind. I dab the piece of wood in a little bit of the glue then place it. I use a tooth pick to clean up any excess superglue along the edges. I'm working up a how to on doing this. I'm writing impaired so it'll be awhile.
