1st day at Nats in Atlanta, found the YMW 1/350 CL51 Atlanta; had been looking for a DE, but a Lt/AA Cruiser was 2nd choice so I took it.

Pretty good warship representation in the vendor room YMW, ISW, Nautilus Models, a few others, & the usual injection kits scattered around.

Not many ships out in display room yet, but it is early ...

John, still with a few bucks in the show allowance ....

PS: Bar downstairs, Jack & Jill's, or something like that, has 34-oz Guinness draught .... life is good.

John,

You're taking lots of photos right? It would be cool to see some of the stuff they have/had there.

Drink a Guinness for me.

OK, today I got some WEM USN WW2 paints for my Dreadnought "Show Boat" (& the Atlanta).

Ships are out in droves now -- this is gonna be a super event. I've been doing volunteer work & stuff, thru tonight but tomorrow is for me & I and camera are off to the display room so I'll have some posts after the show.

To wet your appetites until John can post his pictures here is the USS Atlanta while on sea trials.

Atlanta, and her sister Juneau, are two of my favorite ships. If I ever pop for a larger resin ship it may very well be this kit, if it's not too expensive, say less than $150?

Rodger:
It was $145; wish I'd waited a couple days for the 25%-50% sales, but was afraid it wouldn't be there.

I'm actually toying with idea to convert this to later-war San Diego (one of 4 original Atlanta's). Haven't done any research yet & am not an expert on this class -- I just wanted one of these Light-CA AAA gunfighters ...
