This one also brings back memories for me.  It's one of the first kits I ever did as well. I can remember my dad making me wait to get started on it for a couple of days until he had time to help me. During that time I must have taken the pieces out of the box and dry fit most of them a dozen times!!!

Yep, that sure does bring back memories. I was probably ten or twelve, back in the mid to late sixties when I built it.
Notice the extreme accuracy of the box art. She's under way, no Vestal alongside, no battleship row, Ford Island, anything like that.
I'll bet this kit even says "box art suitible for framing.  :-)

I still have a 1970-71 Revell catalog with all those neat and beautifull illustrations/paintings!
It sure fooled a lot of modelers "by the cover", but then it was funny the way I built those models - in a hurry :-)

I think that was the only model I built as a kid that I didn't play with.  I put it up on my dresser so I could see it everyday while I dressed for school.
