Hi all
Although we still have "Garry Beebe's Dreadnoughts" running, and "Garry Beebe's Flattops" is about to start, to anyone interested the enlistment to
Dive! Dive! Dive! 2 has started.
The campaign has been aproved and more details can be seen here:
Dive! Dive! Dive! 2 Also I would like to promote another Campaign in Warships:
Leyte Gulf Pick one, or two or all - it's only four models in one year

Enjoy and Enlist! Know the world

Hey Skipper! Those rules and regs sound familiar

and since I'm a point of contact for questions, I just had to enlist!!! I even have a couple subs in the stash, so I'm already further along than I was last time!
Thanks for taking the lead!

Oh well that 1/72 Gato sounds cool

I will at least join with my 1/700 VIIB or IX u-boat :-)

Hi Darryl and Martin
It's good to see the "old crew" joinning in!
I only hope that this will be as good as the first!
So... those of you who never built a SUBMARINE... what are you waiting for?

This sounds like a golden opportunity to put another couple of wire-guided fish into my credit card - time to order my Revell Type VII

Ok I enlisted!
Previously I did a VIIC with full hull etc. This time I want to do a waterline model!
Possibly the new Gato.

I still don't know what is going to be...
But since 65% of the stash is Subs, I'll see which one(s) will be sellected!
Yes, Martin the temptation on the new Gato is terryble

Graham, since the Campaign has a long duration (1 year) I know you will make a great contender for HMS Campanula

I'm always in for a floaty thing. Can't think of what sub I'd make, as I have none in the stash and hadn't planned on getting any any time soon.
Can I suggest a couple other campaigns? How about finishing the fleet off with a Cruiser and a Destroyer comapaign, to go along with Dreadnaughts and Flatops?
I'm sure to go in for Leyte Gulf as well.

I'll be dicey, but I've signed up! I'm expecting to need all the time to finish my Missouri for the Dreadnought campaign, so I'll have less time to work on my sub.
BUT, that said, my plan is to build another Improved 688 Los Angeles Class. I know, BORING!!! But I've already got it in my stash, my son served on both the USS Boise and the USS Columbus, and besides, having done one, I've now figured out what to do and more improtantly what NOT to do!!!
Still thinking about some sort of desk display with both of them and a place for a name plate, perhaps with the two boats facing each other similar to the dolphins. HHmmmmm........................

Great idea Rodger, for a Destroyer Campaign. Since I've got a Fletcher with all the extra AM stuff, a campaign is a great excuse to actually force me to build it.
Heck, with all these Naval vessels in the que, I'll NEVER get around to the 6-7 armor and soft skins still in the stash!!!!

Got into the Leyte Gulf thing as well. Some of my ancestors hail from that place. So a Filipino like me should be into this as well.

I've got two of those 400 scale Mirage kits eft, so I'll probably pop in at the last minute with one of them. The flattop is going to take a lot out of me and with all the naval builds just recently, I want to do tanks.....lots of tanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why was this one set up to run at the same time as the Flat-top campaign? I sure would like to participate as an "old-timer" but the flattop for me is going to be a huge undertaking. I'll sign up right at the end if my Lexington build gets completed by then.

Count me in. I've got a 1/350 Ohio that I want to build as the Louisiana or I'll build my 1/178 Gato as the Seawolf. Anyway, I'm in.

Hi Steve
The reason for this campaign overlap Flattops is very simple to explain:
The start date will be the day Garry Beebe passed away, and on this first year I thought it would be a good way for us to remember our M.I.A. Comrade and Friend..
Ok it overlaps Flattops, but it also overlaps Leyte Gulf Campaign... it is one year long Campaign and I think that we all will manage to "arrive to safe harbour" on this one and the other campaigns - it will give us all the flexibility to choose our own pace and time to start.
Am I being sentimental about this?
Yes, I am - and pround of it!

Thanks for the heads up Dave!
I really missed it when I read it - why? don't know!
As for your question about the Gato release - December 2006 is what the "hush hush" is saying...

Okay, I'm still confused...when does DDD2 actually end? May 31st, 2006, or is it going to be changed?
Gotta know for sure, as it will determine which sub I build while completing Dreadnaughts and Flattops.
Thanks!

Hi Darryl
This was on my campaign proposal:
So, as a summary and for everybody interested:
"Dive! Dive! Dive! 2" Campaign
Scale: Any
Start Date: March 25th 2006*
End Date: March 25th 2007*
* Garry Beebe's passing away aniversary
To all the enlisted to DDD, no big news about this campaign, for all the newbies (no harm intended!!) the purpose of this Campaign is to build at least one submarine, any scale, any era, real or fiction, to share knowledge and most important of all, follow the Garry Beebe rule: Have Fun!!
I have sent a PM to John Fortier asking to correct the dates - I am waiting for:
- correction, or
- explanation
On hold - over......
