DML/Dragon have contacted
Armorama Staff members in order to make a survey in severall areas of our hobby.
One of them was
Warships, and here it is our chance of Modelshipwrights members to make a statement and help the manufacturers make a good selling choice of an interesting subject.
This is a "almost closed" survey, because DML/Dragon gives us seven choices that they already have made, but have included a
Other Choice option.
Please look at the subjects provided, think if needed, of another option and on your reply include only the preferral order (1, 2, 3) the Name of the subject and that's it. If the
Other Choice is used please state which one.
On this thread this is all you need to make your voice reach DML/Dragon
Thank you for your contribution!
Skipper

Oh this is hard. It's like choosing which of your kids you love the most.
I'm going to give a little imput, for whatever it's worth.
First, my choices.
#1 Other HMS Suffolk. I choose her because she represents the most recognized British Cruiser and she would be one ship closer to being able to complete The Battle of the Denmark Strait.
#2 Prince Eugen. I choose her because she's another ship from Denmark Strait, she's German so she might sell enough to justify others, and she's a beautiful ship.
#3 Takao. I choose her because it would give the Asian market something to buy, and because she's a very impressive ship.
Why I didn't choose the others.
Belfast, she's be good because she is still in existence, so they should be able to do a great job on her, but I just don't think she'd sell that well.
Arizona, she's been done, almost to death. She's probably sell well, but I'd much rather see something new.
Baltimore. This was a tough one, but I feel perhaps Trumpeter could upscale their 1/700 version, and they might be best to do this one. DML, I feel, should go after ships another brand isn't likely to come out with.
Nelson, this was toughest of all. I really wonder why they would choose Nelson over Rodney. I would think Rodney would be done first. Of course the two are enough alike they could eventually do both.
BISMARCK! Gag me. What the world certainly DOESN'T need is another Bismarck. She's the Tiger tank of the ship world. If I had to bet money though I'd bet the farm she's going to be one of the three.
One last comment. I'm really surprised they didn't offer the San Diego, or one of the other Atlantas. I would have thought it would be easy to upscale their 1.700 version.
Lastly, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU DML for asking for our imput. I think this shows why you're becoming the premier modeling company in the industry.

I have to agree to tell them to bypass Arizona and Bismarck. Both are already well entrenched and I doubt Dragon could offer anything that would generate much excitement or a buying frenzy. Something new and fresh is required
1. Takao---one gorgeous and powerful ship the top end of Japanese crusier development.
2. Baltimore Class-- give the aftermarket boys a field day with this one
3. Other--I see a high demand out there for the release of another Japanes battleship...most seem to want the Hiei. The Nelson is certainly an excellent choice, but I think it would NOT have a world wide appeal.
Let me also extend my thanks to Dragon for entering this field. You guys build the greastest model tanks and with your high quality I can't wait to see what you do with the 350 ships.

Hello all; This is great, I would like to see
            1. IJN Takao
            2. HMS Nelson
and the 3rd choice would be a IJN Battleship
           3. IJN Fuso
I picked it because of its tall superstructure, a classic of Japanese naval design. The IJN Tone is cool to.
Of couse a 1/350 IJN carrier would be nice as well..
My 2 cents, Thanks Skipper for give us the oppertuenty, and welcome back...
You all know as soon as they make the ones on our lists, that well be another $100 + kit that we all must have, Ahh such is the life of a true model builder. I love it....................
