OK now it's completely mounted and primed, I've still got 2 sailors to scratchbuild before starting the paint.
How scratchbuilding can be ungrateful, I can't believe I've been working every now and then on this thing for 6 weeks and I don't even have the feeling it's detailed like it should be
i will put the ropes last, they would be a problem for the paint.
thanks for viewing!

Can't wait to see where this ends up.
Cheers,
Charles

JB, what can I say, mate. . .
That's one stunning scratchbuild, and I can't wait to see the further progress as you get her in the dio, and painted up! Keep up the great work!

thanks for the feedback pals! !!
CReading, the fact that so few people know about early russian PT boats is one of the reason why I built that one: I did that one out of 5 pictures and a plan -there is so few reference available that i am pretty sure no rivet counter will ever say me -"oh yeah you should have add this or that" or even that I will grow dispaointed by my own work with the time passing by. Imagine if for the need of a diorama i should build a bit of the yamato in 1/35
now the boat is built, the fun part will really begin

Jean,
what is the story on that gun? Was it clip fed and worked on similar lines as a gatling gun?

i am not completely sure about the clip-fed because I read that to avoid malfunction, crews took the habbit of feeding it shell by shell, which was still enough for it to get a really good rate of fire.
What is amazing about that gun is that it was privately done by French society Hotchkiss and sold as a ground canon to USA and a ship one to Russia, but no orders from France.
Most of the reference I have been finding for it were found on some American reenactement websites or museums.
If you Google "Hotchkiss revolving canon", you should get more precise infos.
that one is the 37mm, there's a slightly different bigger 47mm version too.
here's a small pic of the American version:
