Hey,
My first official post here on Shipwrights..there's a bit of salt in the air ..
To the point,i'm planning on doing a dio later this year with a small canal scene.
I have only come across Verlindens small barge which i probably will use in the scene.
However i would like to keep my options open!
Does know of any boats in 1/35 that i could possibly get my hands on?
Thanks in advance,
Shay

Hi Shay,

Nice to see you over this side of the water, welcome to Shipwrights.

Is it a WW2 scene? Here's a picture of another Verlinded offering:

'The Wee Boat'

If your are thinking Vietnam then there are a few you might be able to use. Tamiya have a Motor Patrol Boat and Verlinden also have a little river boat.

If it's German then Dragon have a small craft that comes with the German Pontoon Set.

Hope this helps a bit.

If it's a big canal well ............... :-) :-) :-) :-)

Cheers

Al

In addition to what Al said there is the Dragon Sturmboot, german stuff, DML-6108, not too big it could suit in a canal.
If you want to model Russian, then there is a Rolls that is just out!

Italerie makes some 35th scale stuff. The LCVP might be of use to you. They are also coming out with the 80ft Elco PT boat, but that is close to 28 inches long. I like those little rowboats though. Might have to track one down and do a bridge dio or something one of these days

Hi all,
Thankyou very much for all of your replies. It's not so bad here after all !..
At least i have a few different options and possible boat conversions for my dio project.
I had an idea of a German officer in his Mercedes (filled with paintings etc). evading blockades in France but getting stopped in a village by some Partisans.
At the front of the dio i hope to have a small canal scene with eventually a boat of some sorts, hence my original post!!
Thanks shipmates,
Shay

Hi,

Artesania Latina has some small fishing boats in wood that can be of some use.

They are from the 20100 series

Hey Alan. The cleats arrived just fine. It's amazing. I've only got a little left on the LCP (R) CC, but I just can't get to it. Arrghhh!
As far as the ELCO goes, I may go with it rather than the 1/350 'Bama for my sweetie's attaboy for me.

Hi guys,
Thanks for all of the extra links,it's very appreciated!
@Sean,g'day mate...i tend to lurk around the site but keep mostly to the Benelux side where i can show off my bad Dutch :-) .It's a whole other world over there check it out!!
As for the boat..i'm going to go for Verlindens Small Barge:

Size wise it will fit perfectly in the dio and it looks very European!
I have pretty much everything needed for the dio, however it's going to be a long project...aren't they all!!?? :-)
