Very well, mate...what I'm going to do is to "sticky note" everyone's thread, so that it doesn't get buried on the pages...you will find your thread easier if you enter the forums through the front door, then click on "Fleet Maneuvers", and look for your sticky thread...

Ahoy Mark,

So if I understood correctly, the heading on my thread should read:

Grauwolf's ...SOTQ#1...U552

and if I should enter a 2nd piece it should be XXXXXXXX #2 ?

Correct?

Cheers,
Joe

Grauwolf,
Yes, that’s how I understand it. Place it in "Fleet maneuvers". Do we know when the official kick off date is for building? May 9th or 10th?

Sounds like a winner to me, mate, something like "Grauwolfs SOTQ#1 Entry #2" will be fine!
So this must mean that you're planning on blitzing out two entries like Wildspear!
You guys are ANIMALS!

Gunny,

Your new sig looks great and the date helps for forgetful folks like me. Sure is hard waiting when I have 2 kits wanting to be built. I must stock up on the right beverages to work on my boats.

Actually, I am only half animal !

I monitored my building speed with the E-boat and concluded that
1 kit in 2 months is do- able, if too many mods are not required.

Began the E-boat on April 1st and will be done by mid-May even though
the campaign runs for over a year.

Don't forget I am still contending with the U-35 conversion.....that is a real
challenge.....got my hands full !

That is it for now...... over and out.....

This is why I kept it simple. Of course, if I get frisky, I could bang it out in a couple of days.

Gunny,

With the threads in that pertain to SOTQ in fleet maneuvers( our individual build threads), couldn't these threads be linked to a group (like you did in "The carpenter's shop"? It would make it easier to find everyones threads that are competing. I know you were talking about putting a sticky on those but with a group it would make it just that much more orgainized.

Well, just to cover myself.

I'll be building Dragon's 1/35 German Sturmboot.
Added to this will be:
Figures from Dragon and Italeri
Assorted infantry weapons from Dragon
Scratch built bits (wiring and the such on the engine, if I can find some good photos).

That should do it for this entry.

Hi all

Because of some personal reasons I have been away from MSW, computers and most of my modeling time, but I must say that I am pretty much sad about some readings in this particular post...
I think that some of you missed the main goal of this Ship Of The Quarter online contest: To Have FUN.
The prizes are only one more excuse to built some more ship models and even if they are meant to enter a particular Campaign (no exclusivity) I was expecting some "fair play" and not such a fuss about what they were.

Also this is a good oportunity to say that there will be three Judges, for this SOTQ #1:
Me, Mark Smith and Dave O'Meara

Here are the list of the prizes (not yet distributed between first, second and third prizes - but the packages will be made acordingly):

In no particular order:
Jag Collective: 1/700 Allen Sumner FRAM Destroyer

MIG: One of the following
- PG117 1/35 Soviet Boat
- BK 1124 1/72
- Weathering Pack for Ships

L'Arsernal: 1/400 French Aircraft Carrier Béarn

DML/USA: 1/350 USS Arleigh Burke DDG-51

Hasegawa: 1/350 Antartica Observation ship "SOYA" (Antartica Observation 1st Corps)

BattleFleet Models: US$50.00 voucher to choose on BattleFleet Models products

So, as you can see, the prizes are good, just for making a good ship model... The enlistment is about to close, so you have a couple more hours to decide what you are going to show us.

Also your threads should be made under Carpenter Shop -> SOTQ (where we are now - Gator this is for you )

Ahoy mates,

Since we are about to start, I forgot to mention that I will install a pressure hull
inside this u-boat since I will be drilling out the flooding/vents and want to avoid
the see thru effect. I believe this has to be mentioned before the start.

Well, have a nice day and happy modeling,

Joe
