An old friend returns, better than ever!
Revell of Germany has announced the very welcome re-release of one of their more sought after kits, their 1/72 Flower Class Corvette. This kit will include several upgrades in the forms of a wooden deck, photo etch, and turned metal barrels.

1/72 Flower Class Corvette-Platinum Edition
80-5112

Flower Class Corvettes were based on merchant ships, specifically the whaler Southern Pride. Designed and built by civilian shipyards, these ships were equipped with depth charges and other available weapons and sent into the teeth of the wolf packs. In the freezing waters of the North Atlantic, their half-trained crews faced down the hardened elite of the Kriegsmarine. They kept supplies flowing to England and kept the Allies alive. This kit features photo-etched parts, detailed, realistic pieces, a display stand and decals for two HMCS warships.

I saw this at Telford last month and would so like one, alas I need a bigger home first. From what I could tell it comes with a wooden deck, metal gun barrels and pe for both detail and railings.

All of those items are included in the re-release. They are shown in the provided photo. I don't yet have a larger one on hand to show you, or one that is in English.
