These upcoming releases will offer you a nice break from the norm.
Sometimes we need a break from our current masterpiece or normal subjects, but aren't really looking to venture outside the world of naval modelling. Riich will offer two rather nice looking and well sized subjects that could fit the bill very nicely in some very attractive boxings.

1/200 OS2-U Kingfisher w/Launcher
20003

The only way I could see this kit being any better is if it were presented in a larger scale. Regardles, this will give modelers many options for interesting projects and highlights the Kingfisher quite nicely.

1/350 U.S. Navy Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle - DSRV-1 Mystic (Contain 2 Kits)
28009

This will be an all new kit, and from the 2-pack boxing you can determine that it will be a pretty small kit even in 1/350. Take a look at the boxart for the kit listed below for a size comparison. Certainly overdue in styrene kit form.

1/350 USS Los Angeles "688" Class SSN w/DSRV-1 (Deep Submergence Rescue Vehicle) 3 in 1 Kit
28008

This just seems a smart pairing from both the marketing and consumer sides, and I would consider this the gem of these releases. Their Los Angeles Class submarines have been very well received, and the new DSRV looks to be very promising. Perfect for those wishing to recreate a subject from a certain Cold War movie!

All kits available March 2013, and are available for preorder now.

I agree about the 1/200 Kingfisher and catapult. It would be great to see this in 1/72. But it also makes me wonder if they've got something else planned in 1/200 ... like a heavy cruiser or battleship?

Riich Models actually released their 1/200 Kingfisher with their 1/200 USS GATO-212 (1944) + OS2U-3 Kingfisher, kit number RS 2002. You can find our news article here. 1/72 would be perfect for most of us, even up to 1/32 would be great. Our own Bill Cross built up Revell's 1/32 AR-196 on a resin catapult, which is an outstanding build that I think a catapult mounted 1/32 Kingfisher would look perfect next to. You can see his build feature here.
