A CD reference compiled by Rick E Davis and published by Tom's Modelworks about the SIms class destroyer.
The Sims-class consisted of 12 vessels built in seven various shipyards and were commissioned in 1939 and 1940. The last US destroyer class completed prior to World War II, all Sims-class ships saw action in that conflict and seven survived the war. No ship of this class saw service after 1946.

Five ships of the class were lost -four in the Pacific to the Japanese and one on the other side of the war to the Germans. For the seven survivors, some we left unfinished durring overhauls that were in-progress at war's end and ultimately scrapped and others we expended in the Bikini Islands atomic testings.

Listed as item TMDVD009 on their website for $12.00 (US) plus shipping, it is composed of 239 hi-resolution scans for NARA images of all members of this class of destroyers. These images cover all the various fits of these ships from pre-war to the end of World War 2. The pictures on this DVD can be greatly enlarged to show details without getting pixelated or blurry. Pictures are from Rick Davis's collection of NARA scans.
