Fujimi is releasing this month a full-hull Kongo in her 1941 configuration. Kongo started life as a battlecruiser and ended it as a battleship.
She was built in England in 1911 (the last IJN vessel to be built outside of the empire) as a battlecruiser and rebuilt in Japan in 1929 and reclassified as a fast battleship. She served in many engagements durring WWII, the last off Formosa in 1944 where she was sunk by the US submarine USS Sealion
