1350

Coming for the end of this month a new 1/350 Kaga. After releasing an early 3-flight deck Kaga in 1/700, Fujimi is rolling out a kit of the aircraft carrier's final appearance in the bigger scale.
Kaga‍ 's carrier in the Second World War included first involved supporting Japanese troops in China during the Shanghai Incident of 1932 and participated in the Second Sino-Japanese War in the late 1930s. With other carriers, she took part in the Pearl Harbor raid in December 1941 and the invasion of Rabaul in the Southwest Pacific in January 1942. The following month her aircraft participated in a combined carrier airstrike on Darwin, Australia, helping secure the conquest of the Dutch East Indies by Japanese forces. Kaga met her fate in June of 1942 at the Battle of Midway when US Navy SBD Dauntless dive bombers pummeled her and she went down with 3 other carriers that day.

No details made yet about the number of aircraft and type included or about possible detail accessories but an announced May 28th release date has been made. Although a final pricing is not yet available from retailers, the Fujimi website offers a pre-order for the kit (No. 4968728600246) for ¥26,784 ($224.00 USD) plus shipping and tax.

I would be interested if I don't need 2x-3x the kit price for all the "extras."

Nice! Not sure how much might come with it though. I have the newer 1/700 here....Mind you it is still up for review if nyone is willing to have a go at it....anyway, the small one has all the PE railings and the details look pretty crisp. If the 1/350 version comes like that, it could be build rather nicely OOB!!
