The Fairey Swordfish wasn't the only biplan aircraft operating from British carriers in WWII. Tom's Modelworks now offers tiny Albacore torpedo bombers made from 3D printing.
The Albacore was designed to replace the Swordfish, and for a critical period, it acted as an important stopgap, providing the Fleet Air Arm with an effective operational aircraft until the later, more modern types arrived. By 1942, there were 15 Fleet Air Arm squadrons equipped with Albacores including some shore-based units in North Africa.

This 3-piece set actually includes 2 different models - two standard configuration models and one with a tiny torpedo hanging below the fuselage,

While the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.

Available from Tom's Modelworks website for $19.95 (US) plus shipping.

NOTE: While Tom''s maintains limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment.
