The Newest resin kit from Atlantic Models is of a post WWII Royal Navy frigate design, the Type 81. They were the first class of the Royal Navy to be designed from the start to operate a helicopter and the first small escorts to carry a long-range air search radar. They were armed with two 4.5-inch (114 mm) Mark 5 main guns salvaged from scrapped Second World War destroyers.

This is a new kit (No ATK 35008) of the Royal Navy's Tribal class frigate of the 1960s and 70s. Done in 1/350 scale, the kit is made up of resin and white metal parts, with photo etched brass details for the fine parts. Full assembly instructions are included on a CD ROM in pdf format for ease of reading and clearer diagrams.
Decals are included in the kit and they are set out so that any ship of the class may be modelled with slight modification. To that end there are extra photo etched parts included for the VDS gear that Ashanti and Gurkha had fitted to the stern.
Price will be listed at £110.50 ($171.87 USD) plus shipping.
Pre-orders can be placed at the Atlantic Models webstite.
To date has yet been given for delivery.
