In 1966 the film The Sand Pebbles", starring Steve McQueen, was released and was received with multiple award nominations and future director Richard Attenborough won an Oscar for best supporting actor. Coming up for the films 50th Anniversary of it's premier, Loose Cannon Models has released diorama set based on the movie.

The film takes place in a revolutionary racked 1920's China aboard a US Navy steamship-gunboat, the USS San Pablo -known as 'The Sand Pebble' to its crew and the crew themselves as 'Sand Pebbles'. This kit (No. LCM0148) is comprised of resin and PE parts that assemble into the San Pablo, dock, coastline and several buildings to depict the ship in harbor along with several small craft.
