Conceived as a replacement for the ageing Fairey Swordfish, the Albacore (popularly known as the "Applecore) served with the Swordfish and was retired before it, being replaced by the Fairey Barracuda and Grumman Avenger monoplane torpedo bombers. Despite this, the Albacore served the Royal Navy during a critical period of World War II.

Albacores of 826 and 829 Squadrons, flying from HMS Formidable, played a decisive role in the Battle of Cape Matapan, conducting dive-bombing and torpedo attacks on the Italian naval base at Massawa in February 1941 and, on 28 March, torpedo attacks on the Italian battleship Vittorio Veneto (including one hit) and scoring a crippling torpedo hit on the 10,000 ton cruiser Pola. Formidable, Furious and Victorious each carried at least one squadron of Albacores when they supported the 'Operation Torch' Allied invasion of North Africa in November 1942 where one of the type from 820 sqn is credited with sinking U-331.
From Tom's Modelworks:
This set includes two Albacore models complete with a torpedo mounted under the belly. These 3D printed models require no assembly but compare favorably with injection molded kits and exceed the detail of most comparable resin and white metal models by a good measure.
While there's currently no British WWII aircraft carrier kits available, the Trumpeter HMS Ark Royal is on it's way and a 1/350 Albacore would probably look fine on the flight deck of a Heller 1/400 HMS Illustrious.
Tom's Model Works lists the set (No Albacore-350) for $24.99 plus shipping.
