Kriegsmarine Stukas!
Tom’s Modelworks has announced the availability of a set of Junkers Ju 87C Carrier Variant Stuka 3D printed aircraft in 1/350 scale.
According to Tom’s Modelworks:
“The Ju 87C was a variant of the Ju 87B intended to operate in the dive bombing role from the aircraft carrier Graf Zeppelin. It featured electrically-operated upward folding outboard wing panels, an arrestor hook and a jettisonable undercarriage for emergency ditching.
This 3-piece set of 3D printed Ju 87C Stukas actually includes two different models - (x2) regular models and (x1) folded wing model. These 3D printed models require no assembly but compare favorably with injection molded kits and exceed the detail of most comparable resin and white metal models by a good measure.
Although the surfaces are not perfectly smooth (3D printing is done in layers), the plastic used can be sanded and painted much the same way you would handle resin or styrene.
NOTE: While we currently maintain limited inventories of most items, some items may be "printed on demand", which usually requires 10-15 business days from order to shipment”.
The navalized Stukas are are listed by Tom’s Modelworks at http://www.tomsmodelworks.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=568 for US$26.99.
