Hasegawa has announced the July 2017 release of kit HSG40096, the aircraft carrier Hiyo.

Hasegawa has not released much information on this model kit, but the previously released sistership Junyo was depicted as she appeared in June 1944 and included three ZERO type 52 fighters, three ZERO type 21 “battle bombers”, three JILL B6N type 21 torpedo bombers, and three JUDY D4Y dive bombers - Hiyo ("Flying Hawk"), sunk in June 1944, may well be similar.

As usual with Hasegawa, there will be three different photo-etched parts sets to be sold separately, and a wooden flight deck, also sold separately.
