Hasegawa models has announced the May 2017 release of the Japanese helicopter destroyer Kaga in 1700 scale.

The second unit of the Izumo class, Kaga and her sister are the biggest warships in Japan's fleet since World War II. Though called a “helicopter destroyer”, it bears a strong resemblance to a conventional aircraft carrier–it has been described by the Chinese, with reason, as an “aircraft-carrier in disguise”. Commissioned in March, 2017, the new Japanese ship could potentially be used in the future to launch fighter jets or other fixed wing aircraft... just don’t call it an aircraft carrier!
