NEWS and images in from across the pond, of Alanger Models next release in 1/72 scale plastic, "U-Boat Type XX III,German Submarine WWII ".
Some details of the kit are sketchy, but this new release from Alanger Models was first announced at this years Nuremberg Toy Fair, and now has become a reality with this latest company announcement.
U-Boat Type XX III,German Submarine WWII "
Kit #~040005
Scale~1/72
Price~TBA
"The small coastal U-Boats of the Type XXIII were a new step in German submarine design. Build as a replacement of the old Type II, they were faster submerged than on the surface, caused by their powerful electric engine and hydrodynamically shaped hull.
Although more than 300 boats were ordered, only few were completed and even fewer got operational, but those few proved that they were capable to fight even with the heavy allied anti submarine warfare in the second half of the war. Two of those boats were used by the Bundesmarine after the WWII."
More details will be added as received to the MSW Newsdesk!
