Fujimi has announced the August 2017 release of a full hull version of the IJN Chikuma in 1/700 scale.

According to Fujimi:

“From Fujimi comes a full-hull model kit of the Japanese Navy Heavy Cruiser Chikuma in 1/700 scale. Main ship parts come molded in gray, and the hull part comes molded in red. Includes decals, photo-etched parts, and parts to build a display stand. Order today!”

The detailing on this model model looks to be well executed, and the very complete dedicated photoetch brass frets included are a big plus. Another plus with this new release is the option to build the ship as a full-hull model.
