Fujimi has announced the November 2017 release of a full hull version of the IJN Shinano in 1/700 scale.

According to Fujimi:

“The third of the Yamato class battleships to be laid down, the Shinano was finished as an aircraft carrier instead following the losses at the Battle of Midway. Now the IJN Shinano joins the “Fujimi Next” line of model kits that features parts molded in multiple colors and snap-fit construction!”

The detailing on this model model looks to be well executed, if just a bit heavier than the 1/700 Shinano available from Tamiya. The big difference with this new release is the option to build the supercarrier as a full-hull model.
