Fujimi models of Japan has announced the December 2017 release of a “Chibi-Maru” version of the Imperial Japanese Navy's proposed Super Yamato Class Battleship, Kii.
According to Hobbylink Japan: “We've seen Egg Planes for years now... how about an Egg Ship? Whatever you call it, it certainly is a scrunchy but detailed version of the largest battleship of WWII!.” The little battlewagon can be completed either waterline or full-hull.
This “Chibi-Maru” (which means something like “short, round cute person”) version of the Kii is the latest of many Chibi-Maru ships released. In addition, there are photoetch upgrade parts, wood decks, spare aircraft, even a special display base available to fit out your Imperial Japanese Fleet of Relentless Cuteness.
The hypothetical Imperial Japanese Navy superbattleship Kii can be preordered for US$17.64 from Hobbylink Japan at https://hlj.com/product/fuj42258/Nav.
