Fujimi has announced the May 2018 release Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) etched parts set in 1/3000 scale.
A new battleship appears in Fujimi’s 1/3000 scale line of warship dioramas! Well, perhaps not technically a battleship, but Gunkanjima in Japanese translates to Battleship Island! Hashima Island, commonly called Gunkanjima for its distinctive shape, is an abandoned island lying about 15 kilometers from the city of Nagasaki, in southern Japan. Gunkanjima was a coal mine in operation from 1887 until 1974.

This photoetch brass set is to complement the separate Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) plastic model kit https://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/news/28258&mode=thread&order=0 to provide an upgrade with photoetched brass building fronts, cranes, etc.

The Gunkanjima (Battleship Island) brass etch set may be preordered from Hobbylink Japan at https://hlj.com/product/FUJ11637 for ¥880 or about US$9.00.
