Fujimi has released a 1/700 IJN Heavy Cruiser Ibuki.
The Japanese cruiser Ibuki was a heavy cruiser built for the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II. The lead ship of her class of two ships (improved versions of the preceding Mogami class), she was ordered to be converted into a light aircraft carrier in 1943 before completion to help replace the aircraft carriers sunk during the Battle of Midway in mid-1942. The conversion was never completed, and Ibuki was scrapped incomplete in 1946.

The kit includes hull parts with the same cross-sectional shape as the Suzuya and Kumano, and closed portholes. In addition, the first production run of this kit includes Type 96 25mm machine gun parts (only included with the first production of this kit).

The Ibuki is available from Hobbylink Japan at https://www.hlj.com/1-700-scale-ijn-heavy-cruiser-ibuki-fuj43301 and can be ordered for about US$33.
