I read somewhere the Mutsu has the same "CAD" lines error as the Nagato...

That's correct, James..........same hull, same mistake.......but not an incorrectable one, although still, a bit of a let-down!

[/quote] Well, since that mold is the most expensive part of the kit (I think?), they probably figured out they would not get their $$ back if they manufactured another mold sans CAD. Not that I will start mine anytime soon, but I have been saving any tips I read on how to erase the CAD lines... most are variations of adding a filler (Mr Surfacer, thin strip of putty, etc) on top of the lines, followed by gentle fine grit (1000) sanding.
