Revell of Germany have announced the pending release of the latest addition to their naval range the 1/144th Fletcher Class Destroyer . Join me in viewing the preliminary test shots of this kitset.

Please note that these are early shots in the production process and not all detail is finalized etc.

The finished model is expected to be approximately 80 cm long with over 500 parts.

Due to the size of the kitset this is going to be an exciting kit for the modeller and radio control enthusiast alike.

The precise date of release and prices are yet to be confirmed.

We will of course update you when more information comes to hand.

Very cool... A round bridge wartime Fletcher. I wonder who will produce the first after market square bridge conversion set? --Karl On the ways: 1:350 Nevada & Arizona Fitting out: 1:350 SMS Kaiser Sea Trials: 1:350 SMS Kronprinz

I wonder if we will see more large scale ships aimed at both types of modellers (RC & build kits); makes some sense from a marketing pespective.

Seems to be a good looking kit. All they need is some AM PE and some figures and she will really pop. All I need is a 20x40 addition on my house and I can get one.

Awesome, sign me up! Although, I kinda wish it was in the smaller 1/200 to be in scale with all of Nichimo's 1/200 stuff... Oh well. Karl, you need to set up a sig instead of having all of that info in the body of your text...

Hi Dade! Or maybe not have so many ships in the pipeline! --Karl

So, does this mean Revell Germany is releasing 1:144 kits of a both a round bridge Fletcher and a postwar transfer from the USN? --Karl

Nah, four ships is a tiny amount to have in the pipeline. I have seven various stage builds in my pipeline (not counting models other than ships and the two ships on hold) and I'm still on the low end of the spectrum...
