Ocean Voyage have been very busy in 2008 and perhaps as you may or may not be aware via recent modelshipwright forums they have recently released their 1/200 IJN Kongo . The kitset appears to portray the Kongo in its Leyte Gulf configuration in 1944. This looks to not only be a very exciting release but the finished kitset also looks huge in physical terms.

This kit is available from a number of sources now however a suggested retail price has not been advised.

Not a bad entry for 1:200 scale. Now, if only Trumpy would advance on their 1:200 Arizona! --Karl

Well, that would be a grand effort to tinker on, but I think the neighbors might be a bit put out with the addition I would have to put through their living room to display it. Seriously, it is definitely a great time to be a ship modeler as has been pointed out before. Albeit, not a poor one, you know that is gonna make the old wallet squeal big time.

I was fortunate to visit OV's Shenzhen workshop 1-1/2 years ago just after they released their 1/128 Graf Spee & have to say they offer probably the best detailed GRP kits on the market. In addition to Kongo they were developing a 1/128 Scharnhorst kit but I've not heard anything further on this. Loyalhanna carries their line in the States.
