It’s the start of 2010 and what better time to let you all know the planned “releases” from Italeri.

If these planned releases (aka "rumours") do eventuate it looks like Italeri will be cornering the 1/35th ship modeling marketplace.

Gday Al I know these releases arent to everyone tastes but its great in my personal opinion to see more 1/35th naval releases. LOL I am still working out how I can get a 1/35th S100 into my stash. The slow work on my Airfix E Boat probably doesnt help my "campaign" Cheers Sean

Glad to see the "men down under" have the same issues us poor slobs have up here. I just saw one of those kits in the LHS and it's HUGE. The only way I'd get that past SWMBO is if it had a diamond ring tied around it. That Vosper really does look interesting. It's slightly smaller than the PT, and a LOT smaller than a S100. Think maybe my wife would take that into account? "But Honey, look at the two I didn't get."

Now thats what I've been waiting for a MAS boat and as a bonus a Vosper. Would of prefered a Dog Boat (Fairmile D MGB or MTB) to the Vosper but we can only hope and take whats given. Thanks Sean for the infomation

Hello Sean, I agree with you about seeing more small craft in 1/35 scale. I built Monogram's UDT LCP(R) a looooong time ago and still have one in my display case. I have built Italeri's PT and the Maiale, and have their LCVP, LCM, and Tamiya's PBR in my stash. I still lust after the Schnellboote and I would love to see a British X-Craft, a 77' foot ELCO, Higgins PT, or a Vietnam-era Swift boat. I could probably think of a few more too. The nice thing about ship models is that they still take up less shelf space than a 1/48 scale Bomber, even in 1/35. Al

I like the scale, but it is just too big (right ---me the 350 king). Seriously though, I am glad Italerie is releasing a nice series in this scale. It attracts a lot of modelers into this venue

I've yet to indulge in a 1/35 floatie thing. Price and doubts about my modeling skills being sufficient to do the thing justice being a couple of reasons. But a Vosper does sound attractive. I've had a soft spot for coastal forces craft since reading Douglas Reeman's 'A Prayer for the Ship' so many yeara ago. Does anyone know what type (70' 73') or era (early war, middle war) the Vosper will be? TTFN Tom

Hello Tom, there is a small photo on the link in Sean's original post. I don't know if that is the particular type that the model is going to be, or if it's just a photo of a Vosper that Italeri used to give a general idea. I also have read Douglas Reeman's book(s) and now I just may have to dig it out and read it again. Al
