Ukranian plastic injection mold kit producer ICM Holding sends us an advanced image of their latest 1/72 scale midget submarine kit, Type XXVIIB Seehund (late version)!
Following the previous release of the early Type XXVII Seehund in 1/72 scale, comes this new release from ICM Holding to go hand-in-hand in your mini-sub collection!
Vessel Information
The second Hecht variant produced, the Type XXVIIB, had a greater range, carried two G7e torpedoes, and had diesel/electric propulsion.
The design was completed at the end of June 1944 and resembled the first Hecht but had a better boat-shaped external casing for improved surface operation, and additional saddle tanks.
Also, additional room had been made inside the pressure hull by moving the batteries to the keel, while the two torpedoes were slung externally in recesses in the lower hull.
A 22 hp diesel engine was fitted for surface use and was estimated to give a surfaced speed of 5.5 kn (10.2 km/h; 6.3 mph), with a 25 hp electric motor providing a submerged speed of 6.9 kn (12.8 km/h; 7.9 mph).
Kit Details
Scale-1/72
Kit number-S.007
Optional kit details also included, as well as decals for two versions of the vessel.
More NEWS details will be reported as received on this exciting new kit variant!
