¹⁄700

Just posted on the Dragon Models website is a (sadly, all too rare) new Warship release - the U.S.S. Essex in 1/700th scale...

The Essex is presented in her WWII 'incarnation' . In the (fairly) standard scale of 1/700th. Not perhaps as spectacular as the recent Trumpeter releases in 1/350th scale but attractive nonetheless.

One thing that is very interesting with this new kit, is the use of 'Slide - Moulding' technology, this is particularly mentioned in relation to the 5" Gun Turrets..

Another curiosity, is the decision to mould the 'air wing' in transparent plastic. No doubt to facilitate a realistic aspect to the cockpits...

An interesting release....
