On with the rigging, seem to be at that sort of stage on all my projects at the moment. Downhauls added to the falls, and the bit across the top (Brainf**t, can't remember the term for it.), also paddles have been put in the carley floats.

Lashings for the carley floats under way.

Breakwater fitted, I had forgotten about that till I saw it on the fret.

More little bits of rigging, all the depth charge & minesweeping davits should have lifting tackles, a quick cheat... one strand just to give the impression.

Boats and floats rigged, one little moan, well comment really, to both kit and aftermartket manufacturers. At the foot of almost every davit is a cable reel, yet they never seem to be included or recognised, few 1/350 sets even have them the right size. generally I keep a couple of frets of 1/700 cable reels for this job, this time I had even run out of the right sized ones on that.

4" gun painted, unfortunately no spare barrel for this one, so unmodified.

Mounted and painted

Getting there, or at least it feels like it.

more soon.

Hi Russell,

It is a busy little ship, but that is what makes it such an enjoyable build.

Hi Julian,

Just the mast & rigging and a few bits and pieces around the bridge to go.

Thanks guys.

I am trying a little generic etch on the Snowberry build.

Using 1:35 Panther grills to emulate the webbing on the rafts
and the two scratch Carley floats, which were present
as per 1943 photos I have of her.

Also found some PE engine parts from a WW1 aircraft that I will be using
for the ribbing on the main gun platform.

I am not much of a PE user but these details I won't attempt
to do scratch in 1:350 scale.

Photos later...

Cheers,
Joe

Hi Joe,

Sounds like good stuff, I must admit I mix and match left over etch from different Genres / Scales when I am adding stuff not included in the set.

Will look forward to seeing your build progress.

On with the remaining detail, having used the WEM upper bridge, which is slightly taller than the kit bridge, the kit mount for the searchlight platform is now too short, so a replacement has been scratchbuilt.

Fitted, along with s few other bits pieces.

Mast assembled,

assembly finished and the added to the base.

Just the rigging to go.

Simon,
Great job with the rigging! I dread when I get to this part
with the Snowberry build....I have never done that much
rigging.....uboats, my main interest of modeling, just have
cables, which are nowhere as complex.

Again well done!

Cheers,
Joe

Nice rigging work Simon on something so small.

And I am struggling with the rigging on my 1/72 E-Boat!

Cheers

Thanks Russell,

She is very nearly there.

Rigging finished.

Finally the dacals on, I used some Hawk Decal pennant numbers, nothing wrong with the kit decals, just mislaid them.

And she is finished!

I have really enjoyed this build, the kit does look a little crude on the sprue compared Dragon / Trumpeter etc, but she builds very well, and the WEM etch is first class. I will be building a few more of these.

Would love to see a short fo'cs'le, and even a later long fo'c'sle, but the conversions are not beyond the whit of man even if they don't. Much Kudos to Mirage for a great Kit.

Julian, Kev.

Thanks guys, it really is a cracking little kit, and it won't be the last of these I build.

Have appreciated you looking in and adding your comments.
