Modeling the Capsized U.S.S. Oklahoma!

During the clean up operations after the attack, it was decided to right the Oklahoma for salvage. Several electric winches were installed on Ford Island and a skeleton framework attached to the Hull. In early 1943, over the course of several days and several pulling sessions, the Oklahoma was righted and the hot Hawaiian sun shone on her decks once more. It was determined that the Oklahoma would not be repaired, and that all the useful items were to be salvaged.

Seeing as I was building a waterline model of the Arizona from the Revell kit, I had the hull parts left over. I figured the hulls were similar enough and decided to build the Oklahoma in her inverted state. I realized I wanted to do this just one-week before a model display at the local shopping mall. With the release of the "Movie" a month prior, it was decided to give this model display a Pearl Harbor theme. I figured, what the heck, two hull sides and the shafts and props, how hard can this be?
